birth story of the week: barbie and ken's home birth
I have always had mixed feelings about Barbie, but seen in this light she's my kind of woman! Kudos to the creative minds at Beach Birth Photography for capturing Barbie's birth story with incredible nuance and wit. You have to see it for yourself...

That is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteso much emotion (and my own personal giggles) wrapped up in those familiar barbie faces. genius work!
ReplyDeleteespecially hilarious how the midwife is shown wearing a (frumpy?) handknit sweater :) and as a home-birth and knitting mother myself, i mean that in the nicest possible way!
ReplyDeletevery good post
ReplyDeleteThat is so out! And so creative! I found myself forgetting that they were dolls at points looking through the photos in sequence, especially. I was as invested in the experience as I would be if they had been humans, which is quite an accomplishment. Thanks for posting! And what a beauty Hazel is (from last post), by the way!

This is GREAT!! I LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteHa! So cool! I used to make my Barbies pregnant all the time - I would ball up Playdoh and stick it to her under her clothes. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo fun, I am with you on the mixed feelings about Barbie but she is afterall a homebirther, doctor, flight attendant, rock star, olympic athlete, and so much more ;)
