The most cherished book of my childhood has gotten a design update in a new edition being released by Puffin Classics. I'm still trying to adjust to the new look, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Are there any other Anne-With-an-E devotees out there reading this, and if you are one, what do you think of the new version?

Hmmm...I am not sure at all about that...
ReplyDeleteAnne is an emo Pippi Longstocking.
ReplyDeleteOh, sad, the cover doesn't fit Anne-with-an-e at all!
ReplyDeleteOf course, now I want to dig up my old copies and reread. Such fond memories!
No, no, no. That is all wrong. I still have my old ones with Megan Follows on the cover, and I would mail them to you to save you from the new design, but I am not sure they would survive the trip, being brittle with age. Oh well. I bet the book is just as wonderful anyway.
ReplyDeleteI have a confession to make: I've read the end of Anne of the Island every night for the past month.
ReplyDeleteMy copies are inherited from my mother and were probably published in the 40s. The dust covers have long since tattered apart, but I have to say I prefer the ugly green fabric on mine to this.
